Real Therapy for Real Life

Welcome to Therapy with Sharon, where I specialise in supporting your well-being.

I'm here to support you on your journey to a healthier and happier life.

About

At Therapy With Sharon, I provide a personalised therapy service to promote calm, wellness and personal growth. I can help you with anxiety, midlife changes, coping with illness, family difficulties and just feeling more like you again.

I specialise in grief and bereavement counselling.

My goal is to create a safe & supportive space where you can explore your emotions, thoughts & behaviours to achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life. Understanding how you've become who you are can help you make sense of the present - but it can also give you greater freedom to decide what comes next.

Drop me a message to arrange a free call and see how I might be able to help.

Services

Individual Therapy

No two people come to therapy for quite the same reason. Together we can explore anxiety, trauma, grief, life changes, relationships or simply find a more meaningful way forward.

Grief & Bereavement Counselling

Grief is deeply personal, and there is no right or wrong way to grieve. I offer a safe, compassionate space to talk, feel, reflect and begin to find your own way forward.

Feeling Stuck & Disconnected

Sometimes life can feel heavy or directionless. Together we work to uncover what is holding you back and help you regain a sense of clarity and connection to yourself.

Midlife Challenges & Resets

Midlife can be a turning point. Whatever the reason, I'll help you reconnect with what matters, navigate change, and create a life that feels more purposeful and truly yours.

What is Person-Centered Therapy?

Person-centered therapy puts you and your needs at the heart of the process. Together we create a safe, non-judgemental space to explore what's happening for you, at your own pace.

Anxiety & Overwhelm

When life feels too much, we work together to understand the roots of your anxiety and develop tools to manage the overwhelm, creating space for calm and balance.

About Me

My route into therapy wasn't a straightforward one. After many years working in television, a series of life challenges led me to really think about my life and what I wanted from it. I found myself drawn to more personal and meaningful work and retrained as a counsellor.

Today I'm passionate about creating a therapy space which is warm, genuine and down-to-earth, where people can feel comfortable being themselves.

Life has taught me a great deal about loss & change. I've experienced many challenges and had significant experience of loss, including that of my best friend and my childrens' father. I know life doesn't always go to plan, despite our best efforts. These experiences sit alongside my training and experience and are part of what has shaped the work I do today.

I am an Accredited member of The National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society, which has been at the forefront of promoting high standards in counselling and psychotherapy across the UK since 1996.

Louise
In-Person Counselling

"Sharon really listens and makes you feel like you're not on your own. She understood what I was going through, I didn't know who I was or what I wanted but I feel alot stronger and more positive now. Would really recommend."

Tracy
Telephone Counselling

"I cannot thank Sharon enough for her help before and after my father died. She not only helped with the loss of my father but in finding my own self due to childhood trauma. She gave me the tools I needed to move forward in life along with the confidence to do so. She is truly a wonderful, inspiring, kind and thoughtful person and so very good at what she does."

Charlie
Online Counselling

"I was struggling with the world around me and my direction wasn't clear. Sharon was recommended by a friend, so we had a chat. She has helped me change the perspective I have of myself and I now feel lighter and brighter. I'm so glad I made that phone call. I remember my nerves at the time and how they were soon settled by a friendly, caring voice."

Jo
In-Person Counselling

"Turning to counselling for support was the last thing I wanted to do. But it was the best thing I did. I don't think I would have got through this without Sharon. She listened and made me feel like I wasn't alone."

Common Questions

What can I expect in our first session?

Our first meeting is really about getting comfortable. We’ll talk about what’s brought you here and what you hope to achieve. Think of it as a warm, down-to-earth conversation where you set the pace, helping us decide how we can best work together. There's no expectation that you have everything worked out or know exactly what you want to say.

How often will we meet?

Usually, we meet once a week to keep the momentum going, but this is entirely flexible. Life is busy, and we’ll find a rhythm that feels sustainable for you—whether that’s weekly or fortnightly.

Is everything we discuss confidential?

Absolutely. Confidentiality is the foundation of our work. Everything discussed in our sessions stays between us, providing you with a safe space to be completely honest and open without judgment. The only rare exception to this would be where I might have a legal duty to break confidentiality to keep you or someone else safe, but if this ever became relevant I would always aim to discuss it with you first.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you're feeling a bit stuck, navigating a big change, or just don't feel like 'you' lately, therapy can help. It's completely normal to feel unsure about therapy, particularly if you've never experienced it before. You don't need to know how therapy works or what you're supposed to talk about. The best way to know is to start with a free, no-obligation chat. We can simply start with what's happening for you now and take it from there.

Do you offer face-to-face therapy?

Yes, I provide in-person therapy at The Therapy Hub in Keighley. I also offer online or telephone sessions, allowing you to choose the format that feels most comfortable and convenient for your personal journey.

How would online therapy work?

Online therapy sessions are held via a secure video call at a time we've both agreed upon. To get the most out of our time, you will need a quiet, private space where you won't be interrupted and a stable internet connection. You will use the same link every week and there's nothing to download.

How do I make payments?

Payment is by bank transfer 24hrs in advance. This payment confirms your session - I'll confirm all the details with you before we begin working together.
